What will you find in a Music Together® Mixed-Age Class?
- A community of families (6-12 children) sharing songs, rhythmic chants, instrument play, and movement activities in a relaxed, playful, non-performance oriented setting.
- Music learned through developmentally appropriate activities that respect and support the unique learning style of very young children.
- Infants, toddlers and preschoolers participating at their own levels in family-style classes of mixed ages.
- Parents and caregivers contributing to the enrichment of their child's musical environment, regardless of their own musical abilities. During the early years, it is extremely important that parents and caregivers be the ones who create a nurturing musical environment. Children are biologically "wired" to respond most to those with whom they have close bonds. Music Together classes help you build that bond.
- A new song collection every semester for three years, featuring great arrangements of original and traditional songs in a wide variety of tonalities, meters and cultural styles.

Our Rhythm Kids classes are just the thing to get your child to (willingly) put down the iPad and start making music with their friends. These active classes tap into how children this age are wired to learn, with music games, animal rhythm stories, and lots of stomping-flying-climbing fun. In each weekly class, your child will drum, sing, move, and play to rhythms inspired by musical traditions around the world, from West African Gahu, to Japanese Taiko, to Brazilian Samba, to name a few. As they learn to think and create like a musician, they’ll also gain valuable skills they’ll take to the elementary school classroom (and beyond!): confidence, focus, leadership, cognitive flexibility, and more. By the end of the semester, your child will be eager to show off what they’ve learned!
